Mete Gazoz X Redbull

"The only archer to achieve the golden trio of World, European, and Olympic titles: Mete Gazoz."

Mete Gazoz was born in 1999 in Istanbul. His father, Metin Gazoz, is a former national archer, and his mother, Meral Gazoz, is the president of the Istanbul Archery Club. Mete began archery in 2010.

His first international success came in 2013 at the World Youth Archery Championships, where he won a silver medal in the Cadet Men’s Recurve Team category. This marked the beginning of a career filled with numerous podium finishes.

Throughout his career, Mete has stood on the podium 51 times, earning 24 gold, 10 silver, and 17 bronze medals. Among these, without a doubt, his Olympic medals hold the highest significance.

At the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, Mete Gazoz claimed the gold medal in the men’s individual recurve final by defeating Italian archer Mauro Nespoli 6-4 — one of the most historic achievements in Turkey’s Olympic history.

At the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, he added to his legacy with a bronze medal in the Men’s Recurve Team event, alongside teammates Muhammed Abdullah Yıldırmış and Ulaş Berkim Tümer.

Beyond the Olympics, Mete also holds:

  • One World Championship gold (2023, Berlin)
  • One European Championship gold (2024, Essen)
  • Two Archery World Cup golds (Berlin 2018 and 2019)

Mete Gazoz remains the only archer in history to win gold at the Olympics, World Championships, and European Championships — a golden trio that cements his place among the sport’s legends.
